Prof.K.Nagendra Prasad Graduated in Civil Engineering from SV University College of Engineering, Tirupati in the year 1981. He acquired in his Master’s Degree in “Geotechnical Engineering” from College of Engineering, Osmania University in the year 1988 and was later awarded Ph.D.by premier Indian Institute of Science, Banglore in the year 1997.

Prof. K.Nagendra Prasad initially served as member of faculty at Chaithanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Gandipet, Hyderabad, affiliated to Osmania University between 1981 and 1989 from where he migrated to his Alma matter in the year 1989. It was home coming as Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering when he was appointed in the Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati in the year 1989 and was promoted as Associate professor in 1996. He was elevated as Professor in recognition of his academic excellence in the year  2004.

Prof. K.Nagendra Prasad has guided 50 M.Tech Works and 18 doctoral degrees. He has vastly contributed to the infinite domain of Civil Engineering with innumerable publications, by way of technical papers, 125, review of books and articles in the subject. He worked as visiting Professor at Dong-A University, Pusan, South Korea in Brain Korea 2001 Project in two spells of 3 months’ duration each time in 2002 and 2003. He has chaired many seminars, conferences, training programs at National, International and regional level and contributed to technical discussions and delivered 125 and more invited Lectures at premier institutions. He has been recipient of Pof. C.S. Desa Biennial Award for the Best Technical Contribution to Constitutive Modelling of Geologic Materials in 1988-1999 instituted by Indian Geotechnical society. He received State Award for Best Teacher from Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2010 in recognition of his distinguished service as a teacher. He was conferred with Engineer of the Year Award in 2011 by Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Institution of Engineers (India) Andhra Pradesh

Prof. K.Nagendra Prasad won ovation and applause at every juncture in his life from his associates and students. His contributions to the Civil Engineering practice are inspiringly exemplary. He has been a leading consultant for most of the organizations in Rayalaseema Region in Foundation Engineering problems for numerous Civil Engineering applications encompassing multistoried structures, Industrial structures, Bridges and Power and Road Projects. He formulated many methods and principles of practice in Geotechnical investigations. He exercised a far-reaching influence in the curriculum development as Chairman Board of Studies in the Department of Civil Engineering. He worked as Coordinator for World Bank Project of SVU College of Engineering during 2002-2003.He served as coordinator for Centre for Rural Development and Appropriate Technologies during 2003-2012, and developed research activity in building materials and held training programs to both organized and unorganized sectors numbering about 30. As placement officer he has been responsible for organizing record number of placements to the students of SV University College of Engineering and other affiliated colleges of the University. He worked as Head, Department of Civil Engineering (2010-2012), Vice-Principal, SVU College of Engineering (2018-2019) and Director, Bureau of Research and Industrial Consultancy Services, SV University during 2017-2021. His contributions to career counseling at various premier institutions and career counseling meetings organized by popular dailies like Hindu deserve special appreciation. He has served the Institution of Engineers India Tirupati Local Centre as Honorary Secretary and as Chairman of Tiupati Local Centre 2008-2010 and 2010-2012 respectively.

After laying down his office at SV University, Tirupati He worked as Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Shimoga during 2021-2023 and Served as Director, Gitam School of Technology, GITAM University , Vizag during 2023-2026 before Taking up the current position.
