The department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1998. The growth of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering is taking strides in strength and in facilities every year.

• The Department offers a four-year course of Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering.
• The Department offers a two-year course of Master’s Degree (M.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering.

Intake of The Students

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering has steadily expanded to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field. The intake began with 120 students, was later increased to 180, then to 240, and has now grown to 300 students annually, in addition to 20% through the lateral entry scheme.

Accreditation

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering has always upheld its commitment to quality education and excellence. Reflecting this dedication, the department has been consistently accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) over the years:

• 2008 – First accredited for 3 years
• 2013 – Re-accredited for 2 years
• 2019 – Accredited again for 3 years
• 2022 – Most recently accredited for 3 years

This continuous recognition by NBA highlights the department’s focus on maintaining high academic standards, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a robust teaching–learning ecosystem. We are now preparing to undergo the next cycle of NBA accreditation in the upcoming academic year, reaffirming our vision to provide globally competitive education.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is led by Dr. R. Karunia Krishnapriya, an academician and researcher with over two decades of rich experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. She has made significant contributions to the field of Computer Science through her 20+ publications in reputed national and international journals, reflecting her expertise and commitment to advancing knowledge. With her dynamic leadership, the department continues to strengthen its academic programs, research initiatives, and industry collaborations.

Supporting her vision is a team of 20+ highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, many of whom hold advanced degrees and specializations in diverse domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. The faculty are not only experts in their respective areas but also serve as mentors, innovators, and role models, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and excellence among students.

Postgraduate Program – M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering

The M.Tech in Computer Science is a prestigious two-year full-time postgraduate program, approved by AICTE and introduced in 2006. With a selective intake of 9 students per year, admitted through GATE or AP PGECET, the program is designed to nurture advanced technical expertise, research acumen, and innovative thinking.

The curriculum emphasizes both deep theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving skills, empowering students to explore cutting-edge areas of Computer Science while preparing them for impactful roles in academia, research, and industry.
