About The Department

Sreenivasa Institute of Technology and Management Studies, Chittoor Established in 1998 with an initial intake of 40 students, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has grown significantly over the years. Currently, the department admits 240 students annually, along with an additional 20% through the lateral entry scheme. The department offers a B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering, along with specialized tracks, and a full-time M.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering.

The department is continuously evolving, keeping pace with the latest technological trends and academic advancements. It has consistently received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a testimony to its commitment to quality education:

  • Accredited in 2008 for 3 years
  • Re-accredited in 2013 for 2 years
  • Again in 2019 for 3 years
  • Most recently in 2022 for 3 years

Department Leadership and Faculty

The department is headed by Dr.R.Karunia Krishnapriya, who brings with her over two decades of experience in teaching and research. He has published 20 research papers in reputed national and international journals. Under his leadership, the department is driven by a team of 20+ highly qualified and dedicated faculty members. They are not only well-versed in their subjects but are also passionate, innovative, responsible, and committed to both academic excellence and high-quality research.

Vision and Focus

The CSE department is dedicated to building strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and programming skills using languages such as Python, C, Java, as well as in advanced areas like Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, Secure Application Development, and Open Source Technologies.

To enhance real-world knowledge and employability, students are actively encouraged to:

  • Participate in Hackathons, Internships, and Project-based Learning
  • Attend seminars, workshops, and group discussions
  • Take part in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
  • Undergo industry-relevant skill development training for core and IT-related job roles

Postgraduate Program: M.Tech in Computer Science

The M.Tech in Computer Science is a two-year full-time postgraduate program, approved by AICTE, and launched in 2006. It has an annual intake of 9 students, selected through GATE or AP PGECET. The program is designed to cultivate advanced technical expertise and research skills in the domain of Computer Science.
